ecco tutto quello che c'era scritto sull'articolo di CGW ;)

- Night Elves announced as 5th race

- Druid and Hunter classes confirmed

- Druid can shapeshift

- Hunter can tame one of the "world's 1000 animals to be their sidekick."

- Game-controlled Zeppelins and Boats for transportation.

- A skill system made of primary and secondary skills. Primary skills will automatically go up when you level up (you won't assign skill points to primary skills... so you can't screw up your character) and secondary skills are trade skills such as: Lock Picking, First Aid, Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Herbalism, Mining, Learning a foreign language, Building Furniture, and Crafting leather goods. (Fishing and swimming were also mentioned.)

- At least 3 to 4 hours to go from one side of the world to the other in a straight line.

- Many quests that guide you through the game from beginning tutorial quests to complicated high level quests.

- A quest system that discourages farming and camping. "The guy who stands in the same place for eight hours killing things will find he has less experience than the guy who's bumping into people, grouping, and doing quests."

- World of Warcraft budget is $40-50 million and at least 60 people have been working on it for the past 3 years.

- Beta will be done in stages, like most MMORPGs, so if you don't get in at the beginning, you have a decent chance of being selected later. (EVE has had 7 betas)

- Blizzard is betting on WoW having a 4 or 5 year life cycle that will include frequent content patches/updates and retail expansions.

- "The company is even planning for the possibility of technological upgrades - that is, not just expansions sets to add content, but expansion sets to update the game engine as it becomes outdated. According to the team this has been part of the game's architecture from the start.

- "'We're looking at the game like three big legs on a stool ,' says [Blizzard cofounder Allan Adham]. 'There's PVP, PVE [player versus environment], and what we're calling World as Toy.' PVP and PVE will ring familiar to MMORPG players, but it's World as Toy that's perhaps the most fundamental aspect of the game's social infrastructure: the game simply as a playground that's fun to hang out in."

- "WOW relies heavily upon story and narritive to gel the world's many elements - something previous MMORPGs have failed to do well. The game's quest system will organically unravel the world and its story in a completely different way for each race/class character combination."

- "GMR found an online world so rich, beautiful, and loaded with detail, you won't just want to visit the rolling hills of Azeroth - you'll want to kick in your job, dump your girlfriend, pack your bags, and move there."

- Blizzard employees and their families have been logging up to 25 hours in a 48 hour weekend playing the game already and it's only in alpha.
